Did you ever want to delete multiple contacts on iPhone? I am sure you have wanted that atleast once and given up on it after you realized how difficult is it to do this. We all know how easy it is to mess up our address books on iPhone and then the pain that comes with it in deleting those contacts. DeleteContacts is a very simple utility to let you clean your address book by providing you with a very simple interface to delete contacts. Heres how it does it
1. Lists all your contacts
2. You can select a contact with a single tap. Tapping a selected contact will unselect it.
3. You can search for contacts and select them.
4. After you are done selecting the contacts, click "Delete" and you are done (ofcourse, we will ask you for a confirmation)
5. You can also get more details on the contacts by tapping on the ">" button.

Pros and cons of DeleteContacts app for iPhone and iPad

DeleteContacts app good for

Used to remove unwanted contacts from Outlook sync. It worked great
The initial version had some bugs in it, but the latest revision seems to have fixed all of them. The interface for cleaning out contacts is indeed a lot better than what comes with the built-in contacts app, especially if there is a lot of cleaning up to do.
This is the best app i ever purchased.Reduced my work alot.Made easy to delete bunch of useless contacts from my iphone at a single shot..
Very cool. I can clean up my address book on my iphone in one go. The contacts keep on accumulating & there is no easy way to delete contacts from iphone address book in one go. This app allows me to delete all the contacts in one go.
This app saved me. All my contacts were listed at least 4 times. I spent about 30 min to delete 100 contacts before I found this app. I do recommend this app. It took me less than 10 min to delete over 600 contacts. Thank you.
I had over 900 duplicate contacts. There was no way I was going to manually delete them. I cant believe theres no way to do this in iTunes. I deleted the dups on my address located on my mac but every time Id sync my iPhone the dups would come back. :( I read the bad reviews about this app but I was desperate. I figured since I had a back up of my contacts on my mac, I would go ahead and take my chances. Im glad I did! In a matter of 30 seconds, the app successfully deleted all my contacts, and I was able to sync my backup file of contacts thru iTunes. I was very impressed considering I tried absolutely everything to fix this manually (well everything to avoid manually deleting contacts and groups one by one). If you want to delete all you contacts effortlessly, with just one click, this is the app to buy!! I didnt try the option of selecting multiple contacts so I cant tell you if that works or not; but the select all option works like a dream! Since there was a bad review that mentioned the app possibly having a virus (yikes) I did delete the app after I was done using it, just to be on the safe side. Personally, if I run into the problem of dup contacts, it will be worth paying the .99 to download/purchase this app again! :-) very happy with my purchase and experience.

Some bad moments

Details button show the details for the wrong contact so I could not trust do deletions.
Contact names do not match data. Does not delete any files. Buttons to contact company or support do not go anywhere. This is a dud. Dont buy it.
Contact names do not match contact data. I just wasted time deleting contacts and then more time reconstructing my contact list. Shame on you developers for not testing this and removing a simple bug that creates such a hassle for users. I want my money back!
This app deleted all my contacts, not just the ones I selected. It also deleted them from Contacts on my Mac and MobileMe. Ive lost hundreds of important contacts and Im furious that apple let this app into the store! Developers page is a 404 so they obviously have sinister intentions.
Its a common enough problem, multiple duplicate contacts seem to breed like rabbits. Between my personal and organizational contacts I might have a thousand or so, but once they duplicated several times (like about 10 times) in my clumsy efforts to sync several computers and a mobileme account along with my iphone, I had a useless contact book. I went to the genius bar and the dude told me how to fix it. Use the contact book on my main mac, which has a "find duplicate" feature, and then once that one was fixed, export that resolved contact book to the other computers, the cloudy mobileme, and to my iphone. That was fine for the other computers, and mobileme, but it didnt work, even after several tries, for my iphone which continued to suffer from some sort of rabbit fever. So I started manually removing the duplicate contacts while sitting at red lights, just killing time anyway, I figured. After a month or so, I am finally up to the Cs and today I decided I didnt want to dedicate the rest of the red lights in my life to this task, so I did a search for an app that might tame my contact book. They all have very mixed reviews, which makes me nervous, but I finally settled on this one, Delete Contacts, paid the dough and tried it out. If it had worked for me, it would have worked for anybody, because my address book is really large and bloated. But the damn thing just went to the first screen ("loading your address book" or something like that) and died, over and over. At least it didnt do any damage. I lost my 99¢, but not my contacts.
This app didnt do anything though I instructed it to delete all contacts; then as a test instructed it to delete most (by selecting ALL then unselecting some... It instead, when I clicked Delete button, asked if I would like to delete 9636, the total number of contacts. It didnt register that I had unselected many of the contacts to retain a contact.) Id like a working app (it would be nice if someone told me of a working automated way to remove hundreds of duplicates) or my money returned.
